Three generations in the upholstered furniture trade.

The Shabani family has built and restored upholstered furniture in Burbank for three generations. What started as a small workshop has grown into one of the trusted names in Los Angeles for high-end upholstery, custom furniture, and restoration work. The knowledge has been passed down directly, from one generation to the next, inside the shop.

Elegant Design Interiors, 1994

Edmond Shabani opened Elegant Design Interiors in 1994, working alongside his father, Thomas. The shop took on reupholstery and custom builds for residential and commercial clients across Los Angeles. Early work came from word of mouth, and the clients who came once tended to come back.

Over time, the shop became known for the quality of the work and the consistency of the service. Interior designers brought in pieces for their projects. Homeowners came in with family furniture that needed a second life. Hollywood clients came for the custom work. The shop built a reputation one project at a time, and over three decades it became a trusted source for high-end upholstery in the city.

Elegant Design Interiors still operates today and continues to serve the same clients it has built relationships with for years.

Shabani Furniture

Patrick Shabani, Edmond's son, joined the family business in 2020. He grew up in the workshop and learned the trade the same way his father did, from the people doing the work. He spent several years inside the operation, working across upholstery, production, and client projects, before stepping into the next chapter of the family business.

In 2025, Patrick launched Shabani Furniture as an original line of made-to-order upholstered furniture for the design trade. The line is built in the same Burbank workshop, by the same hands that have been doing this work for three decades.

Shabani Furniture is the next step in a business that has always been about the same thing: well-built furniture, made to last, for clients who care about how it's made.
